Techno Line:Brand new technology now makes it more affordable than ever to have your MDU projects pre-wired for satellite television!
Technology is advancing so fast, it’s gotten to the point where you can’t keep on your own. At City Wireless, we hope to gain your trust as avaluable source of information on all low voltage products for your new developments. We’re experts in all low-voltage wired and wireless technology.
As a trusted source of information, the most important thing we believe you need to know is that the world has gone high definition. This point is so important to stress, we even named our newsletter ‘High Definition!’
We are noticing many builders are very much ahead of the technology curve, and are making sure their new projects are wired with satellite television in mind. Others, however, are still lagging behind, with only very basic television wiring in their projects. In particular, some builders are simply dumping wires for satellite television into attics of their new homes, with no panel box on the outside to access these wires! Why not show your customers that you’re on the leading edge, instead of the trailing edge? At city wireless, we’re here to help make sure your developments are ready for whatever the next twenty years may bring! We can handle all of your low voltage needs, from satellite television (or cable), security/alarms (both wired and wireless), multi-room audio, network services, etc. No job is too big or too small! If you develop MDU’s do you want to lose even one customer because your project wasn’t wired for satellite TV? You really must hear about the new technology that makes satellite wiring for your developments more affordable than ever! For more information about having your developments wired for the future, please contact Kevin at 230-9449. We will be happy to provide a custom quote for your project. Although we’re called City Wireless, please be assured we can handle all of your wired or wireless needs! Some Tips for Structured Wiring:
1. Use RG 6 coaxial cable- two cables should be run for each location; one for downstream TV distribution and one for upstream such as home security.
2. Use CAT 5E or better. This cable offers maximum speed and flexibility for phones, Internet and networked computers.
3. Wire every room and guarantee flexibility for the occupants by providing multiple jacks for each room in the home. For even more flexibility it is recommended that an extra 4 pair CAT 5E and extra co-ax go to each location for easy expansion and additional upgrades.
4. Use a star wiring pattern, a key design for a structured wiring system. Using star wiring, each outlet has its own individual “home run” of cabling extending back to a central distribution device. Extra flexibility and troubleshooting problems are much easier using this.
5. Use 8 pin Modular (RJ 45) Jacks, the easiest connection points to connect all eight wires in CAT 5E cabling.
