Home entertainment is becoming increasingly important to Canadians trying to escape the high price of gasoline.
 
In a recent survey by Ipsos Reid (May 15, 2008) taking a vacation tops the list of Canadians aged 44 to 62 followed by additional home entertainment purchases. Details are as follows:
 
Take a Vacation (39%)
Purchase Home Electronics (35%)
Purchase Furniture (31%)
 
This survey of 1980 Canadians is reported to be one of the largest polling samples of this demographic in recent years.  It illustrates how important home electronics is to consumers at this time, with electronics coming in only slightly behind taking a vacation.
 
While not stated explicitly in the survey, it is common knowledge that big screen High Definition  Televisions are expected to be one of the hottest selling items this year.  People want HD Television and only Satellite TV is delivering!  As of March 2008, Bell had 63 HD channels, compared to 21 for the local Cable-Company.
